WHY TO VISIT THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS:
This place lie almost a thousand kilometers off the coast of Ecuador’s mainland. Biologically diverse, they are one of the planet’s natural paradises and one of the most visited national parks in the world. The flora and fauna you’ll find here are truly unique. Here, you’ll see unending beaches of marble white sand such as those of Tortuga Bay, tunnels of lava, spectacular diving areas, and a marine reserve, not to mention the prehistoric animals and colorful birds you’ll get a chance to observe. There are thirteen main islands that make up the archipelago. The climate here is sub-tropical. There is a place where animals don't  go away from you even if you are just one step away and also it's the place where you can see sharks (white tip shark) without danger because they are very friendly.

CRUISES SHIPS:
A cruise is definitely the best way to visit many of the islands in a short period of time. Tours are minimun of four days. There is a wide range of cruise offers, from small and confortables catamarans for about 16 passengers to big luxurius cruise ships for more than 100 passengers. Extra details as follows:

Land-Based Galapagos Tours (hotel + yacht):
Combination tours, or land-based tours, are similar to navigable tours in that they combine visits to land and marine sites in the archipelago. The major difference is that combination tours include lodging on land and are limited to sites within a finite radius of the hub town, either Puerto Ayora. These tours are based in certain hotels, which have partnerships with various tour agencies, dive centers, and transportation services.

A typical island day trip begins at dawn, with a walk to the dock or a bus trip to the Itabaca channel, where you meet the boat that will take you to your destination. You spend a short time--two hours maximum in a slow boat to Bartolome or other s islands. Once there you will spend the majority of the day touring the island with a naturalist guide, eating lunch, and (if available at the island site) swimming and snorkeling from the beach. You return to Puerto Ayora via the same route in the early afternoon.
