DENTISTRY PROGRAM

The “Amazing Andes School” also offers a dentistry program in Quito. This program offers dentistry  students the opportunity to participate in rotations at local dental clinics called   “SONRIE ECUADOR” - ‘Smile Ecuador’.  These clinics are numerous and are usually equipped with all types of dental sub specialties, such as Prosthodontist, Orthodontist, Periodontist, Endodontist, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry. These clinics are at the forefront of providing dental care to the citizens of Quito.  All modern treatments are available including crowns, implants, micro abrasion and even treatments with a dental laser for cleanings, cavities, oral surgery and periodontal debridement.   Overall this program will provide a rich and diverse experience for dentistry students, allowing them to view local health practitioners providing close to world class care in a third world country while at the same time improving their cultural
competency and broadening their public health knowledge. 

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The School offers volunteer opportunities with a variety of local organizations working with poor communities in and around Quito. Volunteers can teach English classes at elementary/primary schools or help in a home for young abused mothers and girls with gardening, painting or babysitting. Volunteer work at local orphanages is also available, helping the children with their homework, teaching them English or cleaning the house. Volunteers may also help to prepare and serve food at organizations that help the poorer citizens of Quito or work with street children.
Amazing Andes is aware of the social and economic problems many Ecuadorians suffer and their daily struggle to survive.  One of our priorities is to be socially responsible with the communities we work with and the environment we live in.  We donate a part of our profits to grassroots organizations doing work in the areas of healthcare, dentistry, and various community projects.
